OUR STORY
Lāhui Foundation is a small grassroots nonprofit organization founded in 2019 in our humble town of Kahuku. Our five founders came together during a pivotal time, standing in protection of our community against the placement of the largest industrial wind turbines with the closest proximity to any community and schools. Through that experience—where we were all arrested together along with over 200 other Kia’i Aloha ‘Āina brothers and sisters, we realized the need for a unified organization to support and respond to future aloha ʻāina efforts. From that moment on, Lāhui Foundation was born, and we have remained committed to protecting and serving Hawaiʻi ever since.
